The Disney Magic

Where Pixie Dust Meets the Ocean Breeze: Magical Entertainment

Ok, so you're on the ship. It's pretty, but then what? SO MUCH.

Pre-cruise looks like fun pools, spas, and some shows, but once you board, it's incredible how much the cruise director crams into one day. From 7 am until midnight, new activity occurs every 15 minutes for each age category. Yup, you heard rightβ€”each AGE category. From infancy through adulthood, it's all separated so that each person can have their own unique cruising experience with their peers or as a family unit. The Pirate Party is just stinking cool, plus the sail away show, the toddler baby race like Jack-Jack, and so many cute little antidotes to make each moment more magical for whoever was present surrounding the ship.

As adults cruising without kids, we prioritized some family things but many adult-only things. Live music in the jazz bar with Jerrell was an excellent, calm way to set into our dinner times at night. They also had mixology classes, adult crafts, sunrise yoga, trivia nights, live music in every single adult lounge on the ship(the Magic has 5), and just a lot to do.

The adult-only pool deck had a huge bar, many lounge chairs, and two whirlpools with a pool in the middle. It was perfect, and our haven was a gateway to the spa. Which....the spa. I spent so much time disconnecting from the world and reconnecting with my body. Starting the day like I do at home in the gym. The gym on the Magic is crescent-shaped and looks over the front of the ship. So I started my day rowing or using the elliptical machine, gazing out over the beautiful blue water. It's just breathtaking. Plus, this gym is a vacation in and of itself. It's WELL equipped. There is tons of equipment for anything you'd want to use, a bar in the back has water plain or infused, and a small selection of fruit for grab-and-go purposes. It was just incredible.

Then, the women's locker room was like a mini spa in and of itself within Senses. A HUGE locker area in dark wood tones and granite countertops lined with every toiletry you could ask for. Then you go back to the shower area, where there are 2 giant showers, teak loungers, a water table, and a nice-sized dry sauna. It was with dim lighting and soft music, just a calming, rejuvenating experience in itself. I used the gym and sauna every day of our cruise, and it just made me so relaxed, like draining all the worries away from me while I sweated.

Also! Do the Rainforest room! It's an additional fee ($99/person for the length of our cruise), but it was so worth it. The aromatic steam room, the mild steam room, the 3 distinctly different shower experiences, and the warm stone loungers to relax on. It quickly became our tradition. Our place to chill out each day. We did this in the afternoons, mainly before showering and getting ready for dinner or a show.

Lastly, let's talk about the Disney Broadway-style shows and movies on the ship. They were FANTASTIC, like tears, laughter, and all the heartwarming feel with each production. It wasn't just one show on the ship; we saw 3 different ones! My absolute favourite was the Disney montage show, Disney's Enchanted Dreams, because of how they do, made and fit all of the props ideas into one show that was an hour! It was so cute, plus, spoiler, it snowed, and we had bubbles, confetti, AND fire in ONE SHOW! It was wonderful. LOVED every moment!

From the dazzling Broadway-style shows that left us spellbound to the indulgent spa that melted our worries away, the cruise was a delightful escape from the ordinary. Even as we disembarked, the enchantment lingered, for the magic of Disney had woven itself into the fabric of our souls, leaving us forever changed and yearning for our next adventure upon the high seas.
